National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2020

The National Medical Commission Act, 2019 received assent of the President on 08th August, 2019. Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 provides for holding of a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions including those governed under any other law. Thus, the admission to MBBS course in AIIMS, New Delhi, JIPMER and all AIIMS like Institutions will also be made through NEET.

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

  • Age Limit: He/she has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission
  • Academic Qualification: A candidate who is appearing in the qualifying examination, i.e., 12th Standard in 2020, whose result is awaited, may apply and appear in the test but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the Undergraduate Medical Courses, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage at the time of first round of Counselling. The Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science of an Indian University/Board or other recognised examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology (which shall include practical test in these subjects) and also English as a compulsory subject.

Application fee

  • General: Rs. 1500/-
  • General-EWS/ OBC-NCL: Rs. 1400/-
  • SC/ST/PwD/Transgender: Rs. 800/-

 

Selection Process

 

Admission will be done on the basis of entrance test

Exam Pattern

  • Physics: 180 marks
  • Chemistry: 180 marks
  • Biology: 360 marks

Admit Card

The candidate has to download the Admit Card from the NTA website w.e.f 27 March 2020 onwards and appear for the Examination at the given Centre on Date and Timing as indicated in their Admit Card

  • Application start date: 02nd December 2019
  • Last date to apply: 31st December 2019
  • Correction in Particulars of Application Form on website: 15 January 2020 to 31 January 2020
  • Admit card: 27 March 2020
  • Entrance exam date: 3rd May 2020
