About Technothlon

Technothlon is an annual international logic-based championship designed for students studying in Classes 9 to 12. Unlike conventional competitive exams, Technothlon has no fixed syllabus and does not rely on memorization. Instead, it evaluates students' logical reasoning, analytical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

The championship is conducted in two stages—Prelims and Mains—with top-performing teams earning the opportunity to compete at IIT Guwahati.


Competition Structure

Stage 1 – Prelims

• Offline examination conducted at designated schools and centres across 450+ cities in India.

• Questions are based entirely on logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.

• No prescribed syllabus or rote learning is required.

Stage 2 – Mains

• Top-performing teams from the Prelims qualify for the Mains at IIT Guwahati.

• Participants compete in innovative activities, logical challenges, and team-based events.

• Winners are selected based on their overall performance during the championship.


Technopedia – Official Practice Platform

Technopedia is the official online preparation platform for Technothlon participants.

Students can strengthen their preparation through:

• Monthly online quizzes

• Practice test modules

• Previous years' question papers

• Logic-building exercises

Technopedia familiarizes students with the examination pattern while helping improve analytical thinking and reasoning skills.


Experience Techniche at IIT Guwahati

Technothlon Mains is conducted alongside Techniche, IIT Guwahati's flagship Techno-Management Festival and one of the largest technical festivals in North-East India.

Qualified participants get the opportunity to experience:

• Inspiring lecture series by renowned personalities

• RoboWars competitions

• Technical workshops

• Science and technology exhibitions

Past editions have featured distinguished speakers such as Walter Bender, George Kourounis, Roger Hunter, and Dr. Samuel Chand, making the experience both educational and inspiring.


Step-by-Step Registration & Participation Process

Step 1: Form a Team – Each team must consist of two students belonging to the same category.

Step 2: Register Online or Offline – Register through the official Technothlon registration portal or contact your city representative.

Step 3: Prepare with Technopedia – Access practice quizzes, previous year papers, and learning resources.

Step 4: Appear for the Prelims – Take the offline examination at your allotted examination centre.

Step 5: Qualify for the Mains – Top-performing teams earn an invitation to IIT Guwahati for the final championship.


Eligibility Criteria

Technothlon is open to students studying during the academic session 2026–27.

Junior Squad

• Class 9

• Class 10

Hauts Squad

• Class 11

• Class 12

There are no prerequisites or syllabus requirements. Students simply need curiosity, logical thinking, teamwork, and a passion for solving challenging problems.


Registration Fee

Registration for Technothlon 2026 is now open.

Entry Fee: ₹200 per team

(Each team must consist of two students.)

Students can register:

• Online through the official Technothlon registration portal

• Offline through their respective city representatives

For Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) students, the Prelims examination will be conducted in their respective schools.


Examination Centres

The Prelims examination will be conducted in designated schools and examination centres across 450+ cities throughout India.

Students will receive information regarding their allotted examination centre well before the examination date.
