Ashoka’s Young Scholars Programmes (YSP) are certified, summer, residential programmes, designed to give motivated students in classes 9,10,11 & 12 an exposure to a liberal arts & sciences education at the university level. We are offering five multidisciplinary programme options during the summer break.
YSP 2024 offers five interdisciplinary streams with a hands-on approach to learning. YSP 2024, for the very first time, is being offered in two sessions, May 20 – May 31, 2024 OR June 3 – June 14, 2024. Students can apply to any of the two sessions.
YSP Foundation Liberal Arts & Sciences (YSP FLAS) is a five-day certified programme especially tailored for ambitious high-schoolers (grades 9,10, 11 & 12) eager to delve into college-level liberal arts and sciences, and looking to gain a comprehensive understanding of foundational disciplines. Programme dates: May 20 – May 24, 2024 (Session 1) OR June 3 – June 7, 2024 (Session 2).
YSP Frontiers of Science (YSP FoS) is a five-day, certified, research led residential experience tailored for high schoolers (grades 9, 10, 11 & 12) passionate about the future of scientific disciplines. This programme offers a multidisciplinary approach to cutting-edge research and engagement across different science streams including biosciences, astrophysics, chemistry, math, and computer science. The programme does not require students to have prior experience of studying science in grades 9-12. Programme dates: May 27 – May 31, 2024 (Session 1) OR June 10 – June 14, 2024 (Session 2).
YSP Tech, Data & Computer Science (YSP TDCS) is a five-day certified programme, offering an immersive experience in engaging sessions that delve into relevant topics like generative AI & ML, basic programming, cryptography, cybersecurity ethics and tech-driven entrepreneurship.The programme is especially curated for high-schoolers (grades 9,10, 11 & 12) eager to navigate the dynamic world of cutting-edge Technologies, Data and Computer Sciences and does not require students to have any prior CS experience. Programme dates: May 27 – May 31, 2024 (Session 1) OR June 10 – June 14, 2024 (Session 2).
YSP Economics, Policy & Society (YSP EPS) is a five-day certified programme and brings forward a unique hands-on approach to Social Sciences, Humanities, and allied disciplines. Programme dates: May 27 – May 31, 2024 (Session 1) OR June 10 – June 14, 2024 (Session 2).
YSP Entrepreneurship, Leadership & Impact (YSP ELI) is a five-day practitioner led, certified programme. It a blend of theoretical insights and experiential learning, focused on the fundamentals of leadership, entrepreneurship and social impact. High-schoolers (grades 9, 10, 11 & 12) who aspire to drive change across various domains. Programme dates: May 27 – May 31, 2024 (Session 1) OR June 10 – June 14, 2024 (Session 2).
YSP also offers motivated & talented students the option of taking YSP Advanced (YSP Foundation, Liberal Arts & Sciences + any other stream), over a 10-day certified programme on campus. Programme dates: May 20 – May 31, 2024 (Session 1) OR June 3 – June 14, 2024 (Session 2).
Students who take the YSP are better informed & better prepared for higher studies at the senior secondary school & college level, leading to better long-term outcomes.
