The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, was conceived and planned in 1960 to create in Chandigarh as “Island of Excellence” providing physical and intellectual milieu for young scientists working in multiple disciplines of medicines to advance the frontiers of Knowledge, to render human services to sick and suffering, to train medical and Paramedical Manpower. The Institute was established in 1962 by the erstwhile state of Punjab. It was declared as an Institute of National importance by an Act of Parliament (Act51 of 1966) with effect from April 01

Eligibility Criteria

 

B.Sc Medical Technology (Laboratory/ Radiodiagnosis & Imaging/ Operation Theatre)

  • Academic Qualification: Candidate must 10+2 (Science Group) (PCM/PCB) passed or its equivalent from a recognized Board/ University.

 

B.Sc Medical Technology (Radiotherapy)

  • Academic Qualification: Candidate must 10+2 (Science group) passed or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board/ University with Physics & Chemistry with at least 50% marks. 

 

B.Sc Medical Technology (Perfusionist)

  • Academic Qualification: Candidate must 10+2 (Science group) passed or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board/ University with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English.

 

B.Sc (Embalming and Mortuary Science)

  • Academic Qualification: 10+2 (Science group) passed or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board/ University with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General English and Gen. Knowledge/Current Affairs. 

 

B.Sc (Medical Animation and AudioVisual creation)/ BPH

Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from recognized Board/ University.

 

Bachelor of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology

  • Academic Qualification: candidate must 10+2 (Science group) passed or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board/ University with Physics & Chemistry with a least 50% marks.

 

BPT

  • Academic Qualification: Candidate must 10+2 (Science group) passed or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board/ University with Physics & Chemistry, Biology & English.
