GMCH Sector 32 Chandigarh Paramedical Combined Entrance Test (GCET-2023)


Chandigarh the ‘City Beautiful’ has one of the best educational facilities in the country. Besides the Panjab University and the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, it has an Engineering College, College of Arts, College of Architecture, a number of Government and Private Degree Colleges and other prestigious and important research institutions. However city lacked a Medical College for graduate i.e. MBBS and postgraduate studies for the students belonging to Chandigarh. Chandigarh Administration decided to establish a Medical College in Chandigarh to remove this deficiency. For this purpose the Department of Medical Education & Research was created. In pursuance of the No Objection Certificate issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare

10+2 (Medical Group i.e., Physics, Chemistry & Biology) passed candidate will be eligible for all B.Sc. courses provided they choose option 10+2 (Medical Group i.e., Physics, Chemistry & Biology)

Age: Minimum 17 years as on 31.12.2023.




UT Chandigarh Pool (85%):85% seats of the total sanctioned intake of an institution will be filled up from amongst the students who have passed their qualifying examination from schools/colleges recognized by the Chandigarh Administration and located in the Union Territory, Chandigarh, as regular students of the said school/college.

General Pool (15%): Remaining 15% seats will be filled from amongst students, who have passed their qualifying examination from institutions other than those located in the Union Territory, Chandigarh.


Selection Procedure


Candidate can choose discipline/course at the time of counseling on the basis of merit obtained in the Entrance Test (GCET-2023) subject to the availability of the seats in the respective course.

Rs. 2000/- (General + Other Categories) + Bank charges (if any)

The application fee, once paid, shall not be refunded.


GCET Syllabus and Paper Pattern


Scheme of examination shall be as under:

1. The medium of GCET-2023 will be English only.

2. Paper will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

3. Each question will carry 1 (one) mark (maximum marks 100)

4. There will be no negative marking.

5. For all the courses, the duration of the entrance test will be of two hours.

6. Minimum qualifying marks in GCET-2023 for inclusion in the list of successful candidates are as below: General category: not less than 45% SC category: not less than 40%

7. For 10+2 (Medical Group i.e., Physics, Chemistry & Biology) passed candidate for all courses a) Syllabus will be of 10+2 standard equivalent to AISSCE/ CBSE/ ICSE/ SSCE/ HSCE. Biology 50 Questions Physics 25 Questions Chemistry 25 Questions

a) Matriculation certificate showing the date of birth or birth certificate issued by Govt. Authority.

b) Passing certificate of 10+2 or other qualifying examination.

c) Detailed marks sheet of 10+2 or other qualifying examination.

d) Detailed marks sheet of vocational course or Diploma course or other qualifying examination.

e) Certificate from Principal of School/ College for establishing eligibility for UT Chandigarh Pool (Appendix I). f) Reserved category certificate, if applicable (Appendix II). g) NOC from the employer (in case of in-service candidate) h) Any other document as applicable
