About Youth Ideathon 2026
Youth Ideathon 2026 provides students with an opportunity to identify problems around them and develop innovative ideas that can create meaningful impact in society, industry, communities or education.
The initiative also brings together schools, colleges, teachers, mentors and educational leaders through dedicated registration and development programmes.
Who Can Participate?
Youth Ideathon 2026 is open to:
- Students of Classes 8 to 12
- Undergraduate (UG) students
- Postgraduate (PG) students
- Students participating individually or in teams of up to 5 members
Schools and colleges across India can also register their institutions to encourage students to participate.
Submit Your Idea
Students can submit their innovative ideas through the official Youth Ideathon platform.
Ideas can be submitted:
- Individually, or
- In teams of up to 5 students
Participants can identify a problem and develop a solution that has the potential to create an impact in areas such as society, industry, communities or education.
Key Themes of Youth Ideathon 2026
Participants can develop ideas around several areas of innovation.
1. AI and Chip Innovation
Develop AI-powered products and explore semiconductor and chip design to create new intelligent hardware and technology solutions.
2. Sustainability
Create solutions addressing environmental and sustainability challenges, including:
- Clean energy
- Waste management
- Water conservation
- Climate action
3. Space
Develop innovative ideas related to:
- Satellite technology
- Space data
- Navigation
- Space-based applications that can improve life on Earth
4. Next Billion Innovation Challenge
Build affordable and scalable technology solutions for rural India, vernacular-language users and first-time internet users.
This theme encourages students to think about accessibility and technology solutions for underserved communities.
5. Supporting Girl Entrepreneurs
Develop products, platforms and solutions that support women entrepreneurs and encourage women-led innovation.
6. EdTech
Create technology-enabled solutions for education and skill development.
Ideas can focus on:
- K–12 education
- Higher education

- Personalised learning
- Accessibility
- Bridging the education gap
7. Open Innovation
Students are not limited to the listed themes. Through Open Innovation, participants can choose a problem of their own and develop a solution that can create an impact for society, industry or communities.
School and College Registration
Schools and colleges can participate by registering their institutions on the Youth Ideathon platform.
The institution registration process helps ensure that the school or college appears on the platform for students and mentors.
Institutions interested in encouraging student innovation can complete their registration through the official Youth Ideathon website.

How to Participate?
Interested students should identify a real-world problem, develop an innovative solution and submit their idea through the official Youth Ideathon platform.
Students can participate individually or form a team of up to five members. Schools and colleges can also register their institutions to facilitate student participation.
