“Rang De Veer”–All India Open Online Painting Contest

Aim   

                                                                                                                                                                                                                             

The purpose of the contest is to create awareness about the fallen heroes of our Armed Forces and generate a nationalistic feeling among all school children.

 

Theme

 

The theme of the contest is, “A Tribute to our Fallen Heroes” – remembering the contribution of the fallen soldiers of our Armed Forces in preserving our “Freedom” as the nation celebrates “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, commemorating 75 years of its independence.

 

Who can Participate

 

The contest is open to:

  • All children studying in Class I to Class XII in any school located in India.
  • All children studying in “open schools” affiliated to National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and pursuing studies through open and distance learning (ODL) mode.
  • All “children with special needs” enrolled in regular/special schools under “Special Category” of the contest.
  • All children holding Indian passports and studying in CBSE affiliated schools outside India.

 

There is no participation fee and only Indian nationals can take part in the contest.

 

Contest

 

The contest is being conducted under two categories:

  • Junior Category: Students of Class I to Class VI (or up to 12 years of age)
  • Senior Category: Students of Class VII to Class XII (or up to 18 years of age)

 

** Children with “Special Needs” under both categories will be assessed under “Special Category”.

 

Prizes

 

There are a total of 56 prizes (28 prizes in each category) in the contest:

 

Junior Category

 

  • First Prize: Rs 25,000/- and Certificate of Excellence
  • Second Prize: Rs 15,000/- and Certificate of Excellence
  • Third Prize: Rs 10,000/- and Certificate of Excellence
  • 20 Consolation Prizes of Rs 2100/- each along with Certificate of Excellence
  • 05 Special Prizes for “Children with Special Needs”
  • Additionally each winner will be given a gift containing a set of books
  • Certificate of Recognition to top 100 participants

 

Senior Category

 

  • First Prize: Rs 25,000/- and Certificate of Excellence
  • Second Prize: Rs 15,000/- and Certificate of Excellence
  • Third Prize: Rs 10,000/- and Certificate of Excellence
  • 20 Consolation Prizes of Rs 2100/- each along with Certificate of Excellence

What to Submit

 

The children can take part in the contest by submitting a painting, which should be a tribute to any one or more fallen heroes of our Armed Forces from any war/operation since 1947 (Depicting war heroes or their battles/operations in general).

The participants can visit https://www.honourpoint.in/, to find more information about the fallen soldiers of all wars/operations since 1947.

 

How to Submit

 

The participants should make a painting and then digitize it by scanning or using a good quality camera (Stand Alone or Mobile Phone). The participants are requested to send only the digitized version of the painting.

The digitized painting should be A3 in size (11.69 by 16.54 inches) with a minimum 300 PPI (Pixels per Inch) resolution.

In case of junior category, the digitized painting should be sent to the mail ID honourpoint.rdv.junior@gmail.com. The mail should be sent along with the contact mail ID of the participant (or parent/teacher) and copy of his/her photo identity (School ID/ Aadhaar Card etc.)

In case of senior category the digitized painting should be sent to the mail ID honourpoint.rdv.senior@gmail.com. The mail should be sent along with the contact mail ID of the participant and copy of his/her photo identity (School ID/ Aadhaar Card etc.)

The children with special needs should mention “Special Category” in the mail subject line while submitting their entries in their respective categories.

The participants should submit a declaration (written and signed at the base of the painting or on a separate sheet) stating ….”I certify that the work submitted by me is my own and Honourpoint is free to utilize the same in any media or form”.

 

Timeline

 

The participants can submit their entries from 26 July 2022 (Kargil Diwas) to 15 Aug 2022 (Independence Day).

The last day for submission is 15 August 2022 and the entries received thereafter will not be considered.

 

Judging

 

Honourpoint Foundation has constituted a “Panel of Judges” which also includes the family members of some of the “Fallen Heroes”. The decision of the panel will be final and binding on all participants in respect to all matters relating to this contest. The “Panel of Judges” comprises the following distinguished members:

  • Dr Ashok Kaushik, son of Major RP Kaushik (1962 Indo-China War Hero)
  • Smt Neelu Daulet Singh, sister of Capt Daljinder Singh (1971 Indo-Pak War Hero)      
  • Smt Savitri Aima, sister of Major Sushil Aima, Kirti Chakra (1999)
  • Shri Vallabhbhai Ramani, father of Major Rushikesh Ramani, Sena Medal (2009)
  • Lt Gen Narayan Chatterjee PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM (Retd)
  • Smt Swapnil Pandey, celebrated author of “The Force behind the Forces”, “Soldier’s girl” and “Love Story of a Commando” 
  • Dr Sarika Singh, an accomplished Indian Artist
  • Smt  Anupama Sethi, educationist and Principal- New Horizon Public School, Bangalore  

 

Results

 

The results would be announced within six weeks after the last date of submission (15 August 2022) and would be published on the Honourpoint website and its social media pages.

 

Evaluation Criteria

 

While assessing the submitted entries the following aspects would be considered:

  • Clarity of Theme
  • Creativity
  • Composition and overall design

 

Rights

 

The Organizers reserve the right to modify these rules if so required, at their discretion. In the event of a dispute regarding the winners, the Organizers reserve the right to award or not award the prizes in their sole discretion. The Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant whose entry or conduct appears in any way to: tamper with the competition; violet these rules; infringe on the rights of third parties; or act in a disruptive manner.

By entering the contest all participants confirm that their entries are their own original work and not an imitation of any manner, whatsoever. The participants further confirm and declare that they have not infringed on any third party rights.

Any participant found in infringement of any third party rights, including but not limited to any copyright will be disqualified from the contest. The Organizers shall not be responsible for copyright violations or infringement of any intellectual property carried out by the participants.

By sending entries to this contest, a participant explicitly accepts the terms and conditions stated herein.
