 National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national-level scholarship program as well as one of the oldest and most prestigious examinations in India conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training NCERT at the Secondary school level to identify and recognize students with high intellect and academic talent. It has two stages first stage is for state level and second is for national level and we are going to talk about national level.

 

Scholarships

 On the basis of the National Talent Search Examination, 1000 scholarships will be awarded. The amount of scholarship will be as under:
  • Scholarship of Rs.1250/- per month for Class-XI to XII.
  • Scholarship of Rs.2000/- per month for Undergraduates and Post-graduates.
  • Amount of Scholarship for Ph.D. is fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.

 

Reservation

15% scholarships will be reserved for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% scholarships for students belonging to the ST category and 4% for Physically Challenged Group of Students.

 

Eligibility

  • A student should be studying in class 10th from any recognized board
  • Only those students are eligible for stage 2(National level) who are selected/recommended from stage 1(state level)

 

How to apply

There is no application form available online for stage 2(National level) exam. you may contact your state/UT liaison officer for procuring application form. The completed application form should be signed by principal of school before the last date of submission. Different states may have different last date of submission.

 

Application fee

States and Union Territories may notify the fee required which will be paid for the Stage-I examination. Therefore, before submitting the application form, you may find out the fees charged for Stage-I Examination and also the mode of payment from the respective State Liaison Officers (LOs). However, NCERT does not charge any fee for Stage-II examination.

 

Admit card

The NCERT shall upload the E-Admit Cards for the second level examination on its website. In case there is any change of address prior to the National Level Examination, it shall be obligatory on the part of the candidate to communicate the same to the state examining authority
