The birth of Indian Maritime University is a long cherished dream of the maritime community of India.

The Indian Maritime University came into being through an Act of Parliament (Act 22) on 14th November 2008 as a Central University and is poised to play a key role in the development of trained human resource for the maritime sector. 14th November is celebrated as 'IMU Day' every year.

  • BBA Maritime Logistics (Apprenticeship embedded) 3 Years
  • B.Tech Marine Engineering 4 Years
  • B.Tech Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering 4 Years

  • BBA Logistics, Retailing & E-Commerce 3 Years
  • B.Sc Ship Building & Repair 3 Years

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

BBA Maritime Logistics (Apprenticeship embedded)

10+2 or equivalent (Minimum 60% of Aggregate marks in any stream and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th and/or 12th Examination.)

 

B.Tech Marine Engineering

  • 10+2 or equivalent (PCM-60% average and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination)
  • Medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format issued by a Medical Officer approved by Directorate General of Shipping.
  • Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for this program.
  • Candidates seeking admissions are strongly recommended to have passport.

 

B.Tech Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering

10+2 or equivalent (PCM-60% average and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination.)

 

B.Sc Nautical Science

  • 10+2 or equivalent (PCM-60% average and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination)

B.Sc Ship Building & Repair

  • 10+2 equivalent (A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in PCM and a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination.)
  • Minimum age limit: 17 years
  • Maximum age limit Male: (a) General: 25years (b) OBC (NCL): 28 years (c) SC/ST: 30 years
  • Maximum age limit Female: (a) Gen: 27 years (b) OBC (NCL): 30 years (c) SC/ST: 32 years

Selection Process

 

Selection on the basis of Entrance Exam for all courses except BBA Programm

Candidate has to apply separate online form for UG Programme and separate Form for BBA Programme (for which no CET) with requisite fees, if they desired to apply for both

No of Question- 200 multiple choice questions.

There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
