What is the Structure of the Program?
The program is split into four levels that have to be completed strictly in sequence:
1: Foundation Level (32 credits)
2: Diploma Level (Programming: 27 credits + Data Science: 27 credits)
3: BSc Degree Level (28 credits)
3: BS Degree Level (28 credits)
Are these official Diplomas and Degree of IIT Madras?
Yes. IITM senate approves and offers the Diploma(s) and Degree(s).
Degree holders become alumni of IIT Madras.

BSc (Hons) Computer Science and Data Analytics (ONLINE hybrid)
UG Computer Science Streams:
- 10 + 2 in PCM with a minimum of 60% (cumulative)
- Valid score/rank in National/State Level Entrance (i.e., JEE, NEET, CUET, BITSAT, KVPY/NTSE/INSPIRE scholarship holders, State Entrance Examinations)
- Valid score in International Entrance Test; US(SAT-I/SAT II), UK(BMAT)
- IITP-SAT entrance test followed by virtual interview

BSc (hons) in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (ONLINE)
Eligibility and Admission
- Eligibility: Class XII or equivalent with at least 60% marks and Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects.
- Admission:
- Eligible candidates will be required to enroll into an online Course, based on basic Mathematics, developed specifically for this program. Applicants will be ranked using a Composite Score that will be based upon their performance in Class X, XII, and the online course. Admission will be given on the basis of the rank.
- Alternatively, applicants eligible to appear in JEE (Adv) and have registered for it (in any year) will be given direct admission.
Programme Details
- Duration: Minimum duration of the programme is 4 years. It may be extended up to 8 years.
- Trimester System: There will be 3 terms per year. Duration of each term is about 12 weeks. A gap of about two weeks will be provided after each term.
- Credit Requirement: Total 299 credits for four-year BSc(Hons).

- Multi-Exit System: The students may exit at various points by earning the respective certificate after the successful completion of the required coursework. Following multi-exit options will be made available to the students:
