National Testing Agency (NTA) Opens Test practice Centers

National Testing Agency (NTA) has been established as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustainedtesting organization to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions. These test was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018.

To assess competence of candidates for admissions and recruitment has always been a challenge in terms of matching with research based international standards, efficiency, transparency and error free delivery. The National Testing Agency is entrusted to address all such issues using best in every field, from test preparation, to test delivery andto test marking.

 

The National Testing Agency or NTA which has taken over to conduct different examinations such as JEE, NEET, UGC NET and other important examination for the 2019 session has decided to open test practice centres for the students from September 1, 2018.

 

According to a statement issued by NTA, its states that the Test Practice Centres (TPCs) for aspirants will now remain open every Saturday and Sunday from September 1, 2018. The students can practise at these centres free of charge.

NTA will administer all of its tests in Computer-based Tests(CBT) mode. These will be administered at NTA-authorized, technologically equipped test centres

 

All tests to be done in Online Mode (Computer Based Tests)


The other important aspect of NTA will be that all tests will be computer based tests (CBTs). This will ensure that high volume can be processed in a short period of time. The online testing will eliminate the possibility leakage of questions/question papers, post test malpractice of filling in the OMR sheets, late entry of students to cheat in the test, subjectivity errors on descriptive testing, etc. In addition it will also allow students to edit their answer.The online testing will also indicate the number of concepts being tested in a question item. In a short period of 3 Years, all the tests administered by NTA will be computer adaptive. This will completely eliminate the problem of cheating.

The statement released, the TPCs will have Computer-Based Test (CBT) that will be similar to the actual test. This Test Practice Centres will help candidates know important things like logging into the system, going through the instructions, navigating between questions, reviewing and editing their answers and submitting the same which will help the students  to know on how to use the system on the actual exam day.

 

It also mentioned on the NTA Official website that the NTA will establish country-wide training centers for the students. Around 2,697 schools/engineering colleges are being made available that will act like the TPCs in the coming days.

In 2019, the NTA will be conducting engineering, medical as well as management courses entrance Examination for the first time. JEE Main 2019, NEET 2019, CMAT 2019 and UGC NET examination are some of the entrance examinations that NTA will conduct.
