GATI (Government Aviation Training Institute), Bhubaneswar was set up in 1946 to bring about a quantum improvement in the standards of flying and ground training of commercial pilots in the Country as Orissa Flying Club. It was merged with the Orissa government Aviation Department in 1974 and Government Aviation Training Institute (GATI) came into being. Since then, the institute has trained a large number of commercial pilots

 

CPL:  commercial pilot license (CPL), is a type of pilot licence that permits the holder to act as a pilot of an aircraft and be paid for his/her work.

 

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

  • Academic Qualification: 10+2 with Physics and Maths from a recognized Board/ University or its equivalent examinations
  • Age limit: minimum 18 years
  • Duration: 18-24 months 

 

 

How to Apply

 

STEP 1:

 

STEP 2:

  • Registration with GATI by paying registration fee. SPL Classes/Issue of SPL (6 Weeks); Medical I (at any of the 6 approved centers)

 

STEP 3:

  • Payment of the first instalment and join the upcoming batch.
  • Ground school instructions: 350 hours, excluding RT classes.
  • Acquiring SPL and FRTOL
  • Appearing in DGCA exams

Selection Process

 

  • Attending 350 hours Ground classes excluding RT classes for Air Regulation, Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Aircraft Technical.
  • Acquiring SPL and FRTOL
  • Successfully completing 200 hours of flying training and IR Rating.
  • Passing RT exam conducted by Ministry of Communications and acquiring RTR(A) Licence
  • Completion of Medical I (at any of the DGCA approved Centers)
