About Us
BITS Design School is conceived and established by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani), one of the first private institutes in India to be granted 'Institute of Eminence' status in 2020 by the Government of India. Over the last 3 years, BITS Pilani has expanded from Technology into Management and Legal Education with BITS School of Management (BITSoM) established in 2021 and BITS Law School (BITSLAW) in 2023, respectively. With a foray into the world of design in 2024, BITS Pilani begins another chapter.
BITS Design School is founded with the objective of creating an inclusive and inspiring space where design students and educators from around the world can come together to learn, collaborate and create. BITS Design School campus is in Mumbai. BITS Design School is a fully residential, 4-year-long,Trans disciplinary Bachelor of Design (Honours) programme.
About the Course
In this 4-year programme, students are gradually exposed to a specialisation of choice. Each year, students engage in distinct groups of courses that impart fundamental knowledge, encourage personal development, ignite investigative curiosity, foster learning specific to a specialisation, and enhance mastery of essential tools and skills. Courses encompass the study of material studies, social media communication, visualisation and prototyping, AI for design, and designing for the senses. Along the way, students also undertake an industrial project, a community project, master classes, and internships.

Eligibility Criteria
- The Candidate should be 12th Pass with minimum 45%.
- The Candidates from any stream can apply.
About BITSDAT & Exam Pattern
BITS Design School will conduct the BITS Design Aptitude Test for students from different backgrounds who might not have appeared for other design entrance tests. The BITS DAT is a 1-hour test. The test will be conducted online.

Selection Process
Applicants should have taken at least one of these tests:
- National Institute of Design - Design Aptitude Test Prelims (NID-DAT).
- Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED).
- BITS Design Aptitude Test (BITSDAT).
