About the YP Hackathon Challenge 2026
The YP Hackathon Challenge 2026, organized as part of InGARSS 2026, invites young innovators to develop technology-driven solutions under the theme:
“Digital Earth – Modeling, Mapping, and Monitoring”
Participants can explore emerging technologies such as Geoscience, Remote Sensing, AI/ML, Big Data and Geo-intelligence to address real-world challenges related to understanding and monitoring our planet.
Who Can Participate?
The hackathon is open to:
- Students
- Young Professionals
- Individuals interested in AI/ML, GIS, data science and geo-intelligence
Participants can form teams of up to 3 members.
A team can bring together complementary skills such as programming, data science, geoscience, remote sensing, GIS, AI/ML and design.

The challenge encourages participants to combine technology, data and creativity to develop solutions for practical problems.
Hackathon Structure
The challenge is conducted in two major phases.
Phase 1: Online Submission Round
Problem Disclosure: 5 October 2026
Submission Deadline: 20 October 2026
The problem statements will be released on 5 October 2026. Teams will then work on their solutions and submit their work by 20 October 2026.
Selected teams will advance to the grand finale.
Phase 2: Offline Grand Finale
The shortlisted teams will compete in the offline grand finale at The Park Hyderabad as part of InGARSS 2026.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Present their solutions
- Demonstrate their ideas
- Interact with other innovators
- Receive exposure to professionals and experts
