About AILET 2027
The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2027 is a national-level law entrance examination conducted by the National Law University (NLU), Delhi for admission to its undergraduate law programme for the 2027–28 academic session.
Unlike most National Law Universities (NLUs), which admit students through CLAT, NLU Delhi conducts its own independent entrance examination. AILET is therefore the exclusive entrance pathway for candidates aspiring to pursue the Five-Year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme at NLU Delhi.
Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate (UG) Programme – Five-Year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)
The examination is open to candidates who have:
- Passed Class XII (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. Minimum 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
- Candidates appearing for their Class XII qualifying examination are also eligible to apply, subject to fulfilling the admission requirements at the time of admission.

The integrated programme is designed for students who wish to pursue careers in areas such as litigation, corporate law, judiciary, legal consultancy, public policy, academia, and other legal professions.

Mode of Examination: Offline (Pen-and-Paper/OMR-based)
Duration: 2 Hours (120 minutes)
Total Questions: 150 Multiple-Choice Questions
Maximum Marks: 150
The examination does not have separate sectional time limits, allowing candidates to manage the 120-minute duration across all three sections.

Marking Scheme
- Correct Answer: +1 mark
- Incorrect Answer: -0.25 marks
- Unattempted Question: 0 marks
Candidates should therefore answer questions carefully, as four incorrect answers result in a deduction of one full mark.

How to Apply
Candidates can complete the AILET 2027 application process online by following these steps:
- Register on the Portal: Visit the official NLU Delhi admission portal and register using a valid email address and active mobile number.
- Activate Your Account: Use the login credentials sent to the registered email address or mobile number to access the application dashboard.
- Select the Programme: Choose the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme and enter the required personal, communication, and academic details.
- Upload Documents: Upload a recent passport-sized photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
- Pay the Application Fee: Complete the online payment using Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
- Submit the Application: Carefully verify all information before submitting the application form.
- Save the Confirmation: Download and retain a copy of the completed application form and payment confirmation for future reference.

AILET 2027 is one of India's most competitive law entrance examinations and provides an exclusive pathway to National Law University, Delhi, one of the country's premier legal institutions.
Unlike the NLUs that participate in the CLAT admission process, NLU Delhi conducts AILET separately. Students aspiring to pursue the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme at NLU Delhi should therefore register for AILET 2027 independently, even if they are also appearing for CLAT 2027.
Candidates should begin preparation early, with particular emphasis on Logical Reasoning, English Language, and Current Affairs & General Knowledge, while also developing strong time-management and accuracy skills because of the negative marking scheme.
