About Us
Guru Nanak Dev University is a Public State University in Amritsar, India. It also offers many higher studies degree courses online. The university's campus is spread over 500 acres (200 ha) near Kot Khalsa, approximately eight km (5.0 mi) west of Amritsar on the Amritsar-Lahore highway, next to Khalsa College. The university was founded in 24th of November, 1969 and is named after the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev. The university is home to several research centers and institutes, including the National Institute of Punjabi Language, Literature and Culture, the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, and the Indian Institute of Public Administration.

Eligibility Criteria

85 % seats would be reserved for the candidates from within the State as per the eligibility criteria of the Government of Punjab and 15 % will be open to candidates of other States/UTs on All India basis.

Reservation is as per Punjab State Government policy. All the candidates must declare their claims for reserved category at the time of filling the online application forms carefully for the counselling. Subsequent claims or change shall not be accepted after the form has been submitted.

The candidates are advised to check the eligibility norms of the Bar Council of India and those prescribed by the respective Universities very carefully before applying for admission and take a well considered and informed decision as to which law course/courses they intend to pursue. The candidates shall be solely responsible for their choice.

Integrated Degree Program: An applicant who has successfully completed Senior Secondary School course (‘+2’) or equivalent (such as 11+1, ‘A’ level in Senior School Leaving certificate course) from a recognized University of India or outside or from a Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Union or by a State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the program of the Centres of Legal Education to obtain the integrated degree in law with a degree in any other subject as the first degree from the University whose such a degree in law is recognized by the Bar Council of India for the purpose of enrolment.

Age on admission: There is no Age Bar as per the order of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India

The candidate must score minimum 50% in his/ her 12th or equivalent from recognized board.
NOTE - The candidates are advised to check the eligibility norms of the Bar Council of India and the Universities that gives admissions via GNDU Counselling very carefully before applying for admission. The eligibility criteria is subject to change as per latest notification from the Bar Council of India/State Govt. and the concerned University.
