About Us
Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA) is a premier pilot training institute in India, established in 1985 under the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Located at Fursatganj District Amethii in Uttar Pradesh.
Course Offered

Ab-initio to Commercial Pilot License (CPL)

Eligibility Criteria
-
The educational qualification is 10+2 or equivalent with 50% marks in English, Physics and Maths individually in each subject.

Candidate must not be less than 17 years before joining the course

Maximum age (as on 01st July 2025): General Candidates 28 years, OBC 31 years and 33 years for SC/ST candidates

Should be medically fit

Marital Status: Single, UNMARRIED.
NOTE
-
45% marks in English, Physics and Maths individually in each subject for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates.

Almost 60% of the seats are reserved under SC/ST/OBC/EWS.
Medical

Candidate must have height of at least 5ft 2 inches.

Class 2 Medical Certificate is required before joining the course

Class 1 Medical at the earliest since it is a prerequisite for issue of CPL. The list of authorized Class I Medical Examination Centres is available at DGCA website.
Boarding & Lodging
-
Akademi has sufficient furnished hostel accommodation at nominal charges for its students. The Girl’s Hostel is separate from the Boy’s Hostel.

Selection Process
-
Online Written Examination: This test evaluates proficiency in General English, Mathematics, Physics, Reasoning, and Current Affairs.

Interview/Viva Voce: Candidates who pass the written examination are invited for an interview to assess their communication skills, understanding of aviation, and overall suitability for the program.

Pilot Aptitude Test: Following the interview, candidates undergo a Pilot Aptitude Test to evaluate their psychomotor skills and aptitude for piloting.

Class I Medical Certification: Successful candidates must obtain a Class I Medical Certificate from a Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)-approved medical center to ensure they meet the health standards required for pilots.

The Candidate must register themselves online on the respective website.

The candidate must pay the registration fees of Rs 12,000 (non refundable) for General, OBC and EWS candidates, to be paid either through internet banking, debit or credit cards as per instructions for Fee Deposit. The SC & ST candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee.
