About CLAT 2027
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by participating National Law Universities (NLUs) across India.
CLAT scores are accepted by 25 participating NLUs and are also used by several affiliated institutions and public sector organizations for admissions and recruitment.
Eligibility Criteria
Undergraduate (UG) Programme – Five-Year Integrated Law Degree
The examination is open to candidates who have:
- Passed Class XII (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
- Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in the current academic year are also eligible to apply, subject to fulfilling the admission requirements at the time of admission.

CLAT 2026 scores are accepted by 25 National Law Universities (NLUs) across India, including:
- National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru
- NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad
- National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal
- The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata
- National Law University, Jodhpur
- Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur
- Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar
- Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU), Lucknow
- National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi
- Maharashtra National Law Universities and other participating NLUs.
Examination Mode
- Mode of Examination: Offline (Pen-and-Paper)
- Duration:
- UG: 2 Hours
- Additional time is provided for eligible PwD candidates as per the official guidelines.

The CLAT UG examination evaluates candidates in the following areas:
- English Language
- Current Affairs, including General Knowledge
- Legal Reasoning
- Logical Reasoning
- Quantitative Techniques
