Civil Services offer an attractive and challenging career to the ambitious, the aspiring and the talented. The wide variety of jobs within the fold of the Civil Services have relatively greater sphere of authority and power than any other services in India. Aside from administrative support, there are other key roles which are needed by every civil service department such as finance, human resources and office management.

Many civil service departments also have to employ other professionals such as lawyers, doctors, nurses, engineers, geologists and surveyors. As interesting as the career sounds but carries a whole lot of responsibility as an official.

What does it take to become a Civil Servant?

Civil Services is not a destination but a journey in itself. You do not become a Civil servant in a day; it will take years to inculcate certain habits in your daily routine and constant efforts towards the same. But the good news is that you can start preparing for Civil services from today onwards. You can start making your own notes and stay on track with current affairs. Timely revision of Mathematics (till 10th grade) can be another habit you would want to adopt. Enhancing your English is also an important factor to focus on.
