INTRODUCTION

 

An MBBS degree is an undergraduate course for aspirants who want to fulfil their dream of becoming a doctor. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a professional degree in medical science. A person holding the MBBS degree becomes a certified medical practitioner.
The Doctor is a highly respected individual and medical profession is the most revered profession around the globe. The course of MBBS equips a student with the required skills, knowledge, values, behaviour and attitude required to practice as a doctor. 

The duration of MBBS course is five years and six months including one year of rotational internship at hospitals, health centres, and health camps organised by non-profit organisations (NGOs). MBBS course syllabus includes studies on anatomy, pharmacology, pathology as well as community health & medicine, paediatrics, and surgery. The syllabus, prescribed in such a way that MBBS degree holders can choose a specialisation for further majoring and practising medicine. The career specialisations for MBBS students are Nephrology, Cardiology, Gynecology, Anesthesiology, Organ Transplant, Endocrine, and General Surgery, etc.

ENTRANCE EXAM

 

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRNCE TEST [NEET (UG) will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses and other undergraduate medical courses in approved/recognized Medical/Dental & other Colleges/ Institutes in India.

 

  • Age: 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course
  • Education Criteria: 12th pass with PCB as subjects
  • Type of Examination: Objective type
  • Subjects Covered: PCB

COLLEGES

 

NEET (UG) is for the admission to MBBS course -

 

  • All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi
  • Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune 
  • JIPMER College, Pondicherry 
  • Remaining all other medical colleges

 

Admissions to all seats of Undergraduate Medical Courses will be done through NEET (UG) - 2020. The following are the seats available under different quotas:

 

  • All India Quota Seats
  • State Government Quota Seats
  • Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities
  • State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private 
  • Central Pool Quota Seats
  • All seats including NRI Quota as well as Management Quota, in private unaided/aided minority / non- minority medical.
