About Us
Jamia Millia Islamia, a Public Central University established in 1920, originally at Aligarh in United Provinces. It was initially moved to Karol Bagh in 1925, Delhi and later built up in Jamia Nagar. In 1988, it became Central University by an Act of Parliament, since then expanding in different directions achieving the new dimensions.
Today, Jamia Millia Islamia is an “A” grade Central University accredited by NAAC and is an ensemble of a multi layered educational system which covers all aspects of schooling, undergraduate and post-graduate education. We are in process of 2nd cycle assessment of NAAC.
The university recognizes both teaching and research as areas of focus. It has Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Education, Humanities & Languages, Architecture & Ekistics, Fine Arts, Law and Dentistry Faculties. Jamia has over thirty research Centres of higher studies and research in diverse domains of contemporary concern.

Category 3- 12th pass or equivalent without any background of vocational training. Such students must have secured at least 50% marks. Besides, they must have also studied Physics and Mathematics in 12th or Equivalent level. Category 4- Three Years Diploma Engineering (any decipline) with 50% marks from a recognized Board/University. |
